Nothing fazes Taylor Donovan. In the courtroom, she never lets the opposition see her sweat. In her personal life, she never lets any man rattle her- not even her cheating ex-fiance. So when she's assigned to coach People's "Sexiest Man Alive" for his role in his next big legal thriller, she refuses to fall for the Hollywood heartthrob's charms. Even if he is the Jason Andrews.
Jason Andrews is used to having women fall at his feet. When Taylor Donovan gives him the cold shoulder, he's thrown for a loop. She's unlike any other woman he's ever met: uninterested in the limelight, seemingly immune to his advances, and shockingly capable of saying no to him. She's the perfect challenge. And the more she rejects him, the more he begins to realize she may just be his perfect match.
As it turns out I hate books about actors. Hell, I can say that I actually hate actors in real life. Most of them are egocentric assholes. So yeah, not much patience with this one. Plus I truly have a problem with Julie James’ writing style. She really puts me off. Why? Not a clue.
Anyway, I hated both Jason and Taylor. The story was boring, unoriginal, tasteless and uneventful. A TOTAL burden to read, in other words. Why do people love this? Why so many five stars? Why an average rating of 4.05 out of 5? So many whys!
I’m not going to give it one star though. That’s because I actually managed to finish it. Barely, but I did. I can wholeheartedly say that I’m not impressed. I would like more character depth, a more interesting story and better humor. See? I’m nice. I’m giving you my reasons for calling it names.
I guess this is where me and Ms. James books part. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass they say. Kiss my ass I say.
